Guardian Live is hosting an event titled ‘Has Capitalism Had Its Day?’ with a panel of esteemed speakers. The discussion will revolve around the future of capitalism, its relevance, and whether it is still the best economic system. The panel includes Yanis Varoufakis, former finance minister of Greece, and author of ‘Another Now’; Ann Pettifor, political economist and author of ‘The Case for the Green New Deal’; and Grace Blakeley, economics commentator and author of ‘Stolen: How to Save the World from Financialisation’. Chaired by Guardian economics editor Larry Elliott, the event will explore the impact of capitalism on the environment, inequality, and democracy, and whether it can be reformed or needs to be replaced. The event is scheduled for 29 April 2021 and is free for Guardian Members, while tickets for non-members are priced at £5.
