No-show patient appointments, multiple hospital visits and surgery delays could be consigned to the past

The UK’s National Health Service is struggling on all fronts, from staff shortages to doctors strikes to mammoth waiting lists. According to official data, the waiting list for hospital treatment rose to a record of nearly 7.8 million in September 2023, while the 18-week target for treatment hasn’t been met since 2016.

Against this backdrop, various NHS Trusts have been using process mining technology from Celonis to try and find ways to improve their performance via data.
