London’s largest regeneration project is set to transform Greenwich’s riverside district, with plans to build 15,000 new homes. The £8 billion project, led by Hong Kong property developer Knight Dragon, will see the 150-acre site redeveloped over the next two decades. The development, dubbed Greenwich Peninsula, will include seven new neighbourhoods, a design district, a film studio, schools, and offices.

The first phase of the project, the Lower Riverside district, will feature 1,800 new homes, with prices starting at £360,000 for a studio flat. The district will also include a 5km running track and a landscaped park. The project promises to offer a mix of properties, from affordable homes to luxury penthouses, aiming to attract a diverse range of residents.

The development will also feature the UK’s first purpose-built design district, offering affordable workspace for creative industries. The district will include 16 buildings designed by eight different architects, aimed at fostering collaboration and innovation. Additionally, the plan includes a new tube station, set to open in 2021, which will provide residents with quick access to central London.

The Greenwich Peninsula project is a significant investment in London’s future, aiming to create a vibrant new district that caters to a diverse range of needs and interests. With a focus on design and creativity, the development promises to become a hub for innovation and community.
