The corporate culture most desired by women centres on respect, work-life balance, and fair treatment, according to a survey by PwC. The study involved 1,385 women across 62 countries, with 80% of respondents having at least a bachelor’s degree. They found that 86% of females prioritised respect for individuals, 80% valued work-life balance, and 79% sought fair treatment. The least important factors were found to be a strong brand (39%) and strong financial performance (38%).

The survey also revealed that women are more likely to stay with a company if they feel their skills are valued and used effectively. 82% of women said they would remain with an organisation that offered career progression opportunities. However, only 53% felt their employers made effective use of their skills.

The report also discovered that 77% of women would consider an employer’s diversity and inclusion policies when deciding on a job offer. This indicates that companies with strong diversity and inclusion policies are more likely to attract and retain female employees.

In addition, the study found that 58% of women would refuse a job offer from a company with no senior female leaders. The presence of women in leadership roles can signal a company’s commitment to diversity and inclusion, thereby attracting more female talent.
