Accenture, a global management consulting company, is planning to sell software that helped it eliminate 40,000 jobs. This software, SynOps, uses artificial intelligence and data analytics to streamline company operations and reduce staffing needs. Accenture has already used SynOps internally, saving around $1bn in costs.

The move to sell SynOps represents a shift in Accenture’s business strategy, as it aims to capitalise on the growing demand for automation and AI solutions. The software can be customised to suit a wide range of industries, and Accenture believes it can generate significant revenue.

However, the sale of SynOps has sparked concerns about job losses. As more companies adopt automation technologies, the need for human workers decreases, leading to job cuts. Accenture itself has already seen a reduction of around 17% of its workforce due to SynOps.

Despite these concerns, Accenture is confident that SynOps will prove beneficial to businesses. The software not only cuts costs but also improves efficiency and accuracy, which can enhance a company’s competitiveness. Accenture is set to launch SynOps in February 2019.
