Nearly half of tech executives believe their organisations are not prepared for advanced initiatives such as artificial intelligence (AI), according to a survey by OpsRamp. The study, which included 250 IT leaders, found that 48% of respondents felt their teams lacked the necessary skills for AI, machine learning, and other emerging technologies. Additionally, 94% of those surveyed agreed that AI and machine learning would play a significant role in IT operations over the next three years.
The report also revealed that 68% of IT leaders felt under pressure to deliver more with less, while 90% believed that digital skills gaps would slow down innovation. The majority of respondents (60%) agreed that recruiting the right talent was a significant challenge, with 58% citing budget constraints as a barrier to upskilling their teams.
The survey also highlighted the growing importance of cloud skills, with 57% of IT leaders stating that cloud-native technologies would be a top priority in the next two years. However, 62% felt their teams lacked the necessary skills to manage these technologies effectively. Despite these challenges, 63% of respondents were confident in their IT operations’ ability to support remote work during the COVID-19 pandemic.
