Apple and IBM have unveiled the second wave of their enterprise mobile applications at the Mobile World Congress. This latest set includes eight new apps that target the healthcare and industrial products industries. Among the new apps are Hospital RN, which replaces pagers with iPhones for nurses, and Field Connect, which provides weather alerts to field technicians. The partnership between Apple and IBM, announced in July 2014, aims to redefine the way work is done, addressing key industry mobility challenges and sparking true mobile-led business change. The alliance has already launched a series of apps for the banking, retail, insurance, financial services, telecommunications, government, and airline industries. The ultimate goal is to produce over 100 industry-specific apps.
