Atlassian, a leading software company, has launched Stride, a new product designed to compete with popular team chat app, Slack. Stride is a complete communication solution, offering both text-based chat and video conferencing. It also incorporates collaboration tools, allowing users to take meeting notes and manage tasks directly within the platform.

Stride stands out from Slack with its ‘Focus Mode.’ This feature enables users to mute all notifications, allowing for uninterrupted work. When Focus Mode is deactivated, an automatic status update informs the team of what was accomplished during the quiet period.

The new platform is intended to replace Atlassian’s existing chat services, HipChat and HipChat Data Center. Existing HipChat users will be migrated to Stride, while HipChat Cloud and Server customers will have the option to switch. Stride will be offered in a freemium model, with advanced features available for $3 per user per month.

Stride’s launch is a strategic move by Atlassian to stay competitive in the fast-growing team chat market. The company is banking on Stride’s unique features and integrations to set it apart from Slack and other competitors.
