Decentralised Autonomous Organisations (DAOs) are explored as a new form of 3EOS – Entities, Economies, and Ecosystems. DAOs, as Entities, are virtual organisations that operate based on pre-set rules. They are transparent and democratic, allowing members to participate in decision-making processes. As Economies, they enable the creation of new economic models, often involving cryptocurrencies. They can create, distribute, and manage resources, effectively governing their own micro-economies.

As Ecosystems, DAOs can interact with other DAOs, forming a network of interconnected, autonomous entities. This allows for the creation of a ‘meta-organism’, a larger, more complex system that can adapt and evolve. DAOs are also explored as a tool for social coordination, providing a new way for people to organise and collaborate. They can be used to tackle global challenges, from climate change to social inequality.

DAOs are not without their challenges, though. They require a high level of technical literacy to participate and can be susceptible to manipulation. Despite these hurdles, DAOs represent a promising new frontier in the world of decentralised governance.
