Dyson, the British company renowned for its innovative vacuum cleaners and fans, has unveiled a new product: a hairdryer. The Dyson Supersonic, four years in the making and costing £50 million in research and development, is set to revolutionise hair care. It’s quieter and lighter than traditional models, thanks to a small, powerful digital motor. The dryer’s heat is regulated 20 times a second to prevent hair damage, and it comes with magnetic attachments for various styling options. Dyson’s founder, Sir James Dyson, believes the Supersonic will disrupt the beauty industry, similar to how his vacuum cleaners transformed home cleaning. The dryer will retail at £299, a price justified by its technology and potential benefits. The Supersonic will initially be available only in Japan from late April 2016, before being rolled out in the UK in June and the rest of the world later in the year.
