In the early days, Squarespace was funded through customer subscriptions, which Casalena admits was challenging. The company later secured venture capital, which enabled it to expand and develop its product offering.

Casalena’s advice to other entrepreneurs is to keep an open mind and be willing to adapt. He believes that business owners should not be afraid to change their plans, as pivoting is often necessary for growth and success. He emphasises the importance of focusing on product quality and customer service, as these are key to a company’s reputation and growth.
