Jaguar Land Rover has launched InMotion, a new technology business aiming to meet the transport needs of the future. The venture will build apps and on-demand services to transform personal mobility. InMotion will begin by conducting real-world testing of a range of services such as car sharing and car ownership solutions, in North America, Europe, and Asia from next month.

The new business aims to understand and meet changing customer needs and to offer services that integrate with personal devices and digital trends. The team at InMotion will use the insights gained from the real-world testing to develop new technologies and business models.

InMotion is part of Jaguar Land Rover’s wider strategy to cater to an autonomous, connected, electric, and shared future. The company is investing in Research & Development to offer customers a wide range of products and services. As part of the strategy, Jaguar Land Rover is developing connected car technologies in collaboration with other technology companies.

Adrian Hallmark, Group Strategy Director, Jaguar Land Rover, said InMotion combines the flexibility and pace of a start-up with robust expertise. He added that the new venture allows the company to respond to the rapidly-changing needs of customers, providing them with personal mobility solutions that fit their lives.
