Microsoft SharePoint is set to experience a series of innovations aimed at enhancing productivity and collaboration. These updates include the integration of Microsoft 365 with SharePoint, which will allow users to create engaging, dynamic content using AI. The new SharePoint Home Sites, a landing page for organisations, will provide a personalised, intelligent, and searchable experience, offering a complete intranet experience on both desktop and mobile devices.

OneDrive, Microsoft’s storage service, will also receive updates, with the introduction of differential sync, saving bandwidth by only syncing the changes made to files. Furthermore, the SharePoint Document Library will be revamped to provide a more intuitive user experience, with a simplified toolbar, a new grid view, and the ability to add metadata.

Microsoft 365’s security and compliance capabilities will be strengthened, with features such as sensitivity labels and data loss prevention policies. The SharePoint Migration Tool will be expanded to support migrating content from SharePoint Server 2010. Lastly, the SharePoint Server 2019 will receive the Modern Sites feature, enabling users to create engaging, flexible, and shareable sites. These updates reflect Microsoft’s commitment to improving collaboration and productivity for businesses.
