Employee sentiment towards the workplace has shifted significantly due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with many workers now favouring hybrid or remote working arrangements. A survey of 1,000 U.S. workers found that 83% would prefer a hybrid work model, while only 11% wished to return to the office full time.

The study also revealed that employees who worked remotely during the pandemic reported higher job satisfaction, with 60% stating they were more satisfied with their job compared to pre-pandemic levels. This satisfaction was attributed to the flexibility provided by remote work, including the ability to balance work and personal life, and the reduction in commuting time.

However, the study also highlighted some challenges associated with remote work. Over half of the respondents reported feeling disconnected from their colleagues, and 46% felt they had fewer opportunities for career advancement. Additionally, 45% of remote workers felt they were working longer hours than when in the office.

Despite these challenges, the majority of workers expressed a desire for more flexibility in their work arrangements post-pandemic. This suggests that employers will need to consider hybrid or remote work models to attract and retain talent in the future.
