Indico Capital Partners, a Portuguese venture capital firm, has launched a new fund targeting €100 million to invest in tech startups in Portugal and Spanish-speaking countries. The fund, dubbed Indico Capital Partners Fund II, has already secured €36 million in its first closing. It aims to support early-stage technology companies in sectors such as SaaS, artificial intelligence, fintech, cybersecurity, and marketplaces.

The fund’s investors include the European Investment Fund (EIF), the Portuguese Financial Development Institution (IFD), and private investors from around the world. Indico Capital Partners Fund II plans to make initial investments of up to €1.5 million in seed rounds and up to €5 million in Series A rounds.

Indico’s first fund, launched in 2017, invested in 21 companies, including Unbabel, a translation-as-a-service platform, and TIER, a micro-mobility company. The new fund aims to continue Indico’s mission of supporting innovative tech startups, fostering entrepreneurship, and driving economic growth in the region.
