Seven future business models are set to revolutionise the insurance sector, according to Ernst & Young. The first is the ‘Ecosystem Orchestrator’, where insurers become part of a wider network, offering integrated services. Next is the ‘Digital Transformer’, utilising digital technology to enhance traditional insurance services. The ‘Data Monetiser’ model focuses on selling data insights and analytics, while the ‘Experience Provider’ model offers personalised, customer-centric experiences. The ‘Risk Partner’ model sees insurers playing a proactive role in risk management. The ‘Platform Player’ model involves insurers providing a digital platform for a range of services. Lastly, the ‘Value Aggregator’ model sees insurers bundling various services into one offering. These models are not mutually exclusive, with insurers likely to adopt multiple models to stay competitive. The shift towards these models is driven by changing customer expectations, technological advancements, and regulatory changes.
