The future of IT is without boundaries, as digital innovation continues to transform the way businesses operate. A study involving 1,003 business and IT decision-makers across 21 countries reveals that 37% believe their IT department is now more crucial than ever. This shift is driven by the need to respond to market demands swiftly, with 61% of respondents noting that IT has become more agile and responsive.

Interestingly, 79% of those surveyed believe that their company’s IT department is now an integral part of the business, rather than a separate function. This integration is leading to an increase in productivity and efficiency, with 73% of respondents stating that IT is now faster and more efficient in delivering projects.

However, the transformation is not without challenges. Security remains a significant concern, with 67% of respondents highlighting it as a major issue. Additionally, 58% of respondents believe their IT department lacks the necessary skills to manage and exploit emerging technologies.

To overcome these obstacles, businesses are investing in upskilling their IT staff and implementing new security measures. The study predicts that IT will continue to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of business, with companies increasingly relying on it to drive innovation, productivity, and growth.
